Day 8 - Peacock trail in Chennai

Today early morning I took a train from Pondicherry to Chennai and I arrived at the central station Egmor at around 1pm. I took a Auto rikscha to my hostel. Although the hostel was not charming as it is shown in the pictures on booking.com, I am happy to stay in a central place after feeling isolated in Pondicherry. I only had this afternoon for sightseeing but I did not want to rush to see all touristic points. Instead I booked for another story trail as I did in Madurai, just to relax and enjoy my time with fantasies. The name was the trail was Peacock trail from 4pm till 7pm. Before taking the trail I visited the X beach. To be honest I felt so desperate when I saw the dirtiness of the beach. I tried to find out why people simply throw their rubbish on the places where they use everyday. It is their living environment and it is not beautiful anymore when it is covered with all kind of waste and stinks. How come being crowded, poor or uneducated can just be an excuse to pollute the environment? It is a very sensitive topic that I faced with almost during all my trip. I really wonder what the solution can be to increase the awareness of the people.
Our story teller was Vijay from Chennai. A very friendly guy who is also the founder of this Story trail idea. He took us to the  X temple and told us the crazy stories of gods, goddesses and the symbols of Hinduism. I have already heard not some from my host Karthik and the other story teller Swarna in Madurai.
